2011 Aberdeen Mills Vacation Rental "The Millers Cottage"




As the story goes, this cottage was once a distillery that crafted rye rum and corn whiskey for sale in Philadelphia. Later updated for living, this cottage is 3 stories, has 2 bedrooms (2 singles and 1 King), 1 full bath, living room and full kitchen. All of this is located within a beautiful park like setting with many natural and historical wonders to explore. Included is a warm welcome basket to get your retreat started just right. Daily, weekly and weekend rentals available.

Here are just a few things you can enjoy:

- Relax on the front porch, enjoy your favorite beverage or book and listen to the sounds of the Conewago Creek.
- Receive a personalized tour of this Historic Mill and property.
- Take a leisure stroll through one of the many trails available on the property or walk or ride your bike from the Mill to Mt. Gretna on the Conewago Rail Trail located right across the creek. While your there, visit the regionally famous "Jigger Shop" for some ice cream and other great treats.
- After September 1st, horseback riding is allowed on the 12 mile long rail trail.
- Dine at several local Elizabethtown restaurants that offer from plain to fancy meals (5 Mins).
- Enjoy Lancaster County Amish Country and shopping (30 Mins).
- Visit Chocolate World for a chocolaty sensation or Hershey Park for an awesome amusement park experience (15 Mins).
- Harrisburg, the Commonwealth Capitol, offers many great restaurants, museums (National Civil War) and Susquehanna river waterfront attractions. (20 Mins).

Earth & Creek Appreciation Day 2011 - April 30th

The third annual Conewago Creek Earth Day Celebration is being held at historic Aberdeen Mills on Saturday, April 30th, 9:00am to 12:30pm. Sponsored by the Tri-County Conewago Creek Association, it also involves many other Conewago Initiative partners, including the Dauphin and Lancaster County Conservation Districts and the Lancaster County Conservancy. Activities will include stream sampling, wildflower hike, fish sampling, and potting native tree seedlings. Short workshops on “backyard stewardship” will also be offered, focusing on forest management, rain gardens, native meadows, and healthy lawn care. August 2010 SPOOM Chapter Meeting

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter for the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills will be holding their Fall 2010 chapter meeting at Aberdeen Mills on 28, 2010. This event is really a great opportunity to learn all about Mills and how they impacted the history of America.
